Johan -

If the serial no. begins M5511 or M5541, then that is the VIN number. I 
don't know 59 Chryslers, but in the case of 59 Dodges, the VIN numbers were 
moved from the tag on the A-post to the data plate, even though the small 
holes in the A-post remain, leading people to believe that there is 
something missing. I have this documented in the 59 Dodge technical service 
bulletins.
