The last time I saw the "LA" car was at a car show her in SoCal about 3-5 years ago. At that time, it was in the collection at the Peterson Auto Museum here in LA. One of our past (perhaps still present) members was driving the Imperial that day. His name is Richard Rowlands and I believe that he was some sort of an associate curator at the Peterson. Richard has (or had) a number of beautifully restored Mopars in his family from the 50's and 60's. At that time he resided both in LA and Kingman Arizona. A quick Google found this index of articles and photos on the wonderful Imperial Website: http://www.imperialclub.com/Rare/Phaetons/1950s/index.htm With lots of info and numerous, great close up photos of both the LA and NY cars. That is all that I know about the Imperial Parade Convertibles, but perhaps a call to the Peterson Museum might enlighten us more. Too bad in both cases--would have been easy. Since then, some New Yorker and Windsor convertibles have been converted to 300 styling. Chrysler did produce some special 4-dr open parade phaetons, perhaps rebodied from a few years earlier. For further information on these first cousins to the Chrysler 300's (same chops and similar guts, components and styling), see: http://www.imperial <http://www.imperialclub.com/Rare/Phaetons/1950s/Discussion.htm> club.com/Rare/Phaetons/1950s/Discussion.htm This site shows pix of the '56 parade phaeton as seen in several movies, including 1959 Lil' Abner: http://tinyurl. <http://tinyurl.com/d66jlt> com/d66jlt This site shows 8 pages of 1955-2009 Chrysler 300's in the movies: http://tinyurl. <http://tinyurl.com/ccqj6j> com/ccqj6j All of this iron has always been impressive and adds lots of flash to some pretty boring movies. One reason I like to watch old movies is to try and identify the old iron in the background. Any one of you ever have your 300 in the movies? The Imperial Club website is a good resource for some 300 questions and background.
