Hello all in 300 land. I started taking my G apart for restoration, bag and tag stuff for easier reassembly. But first I had to trial fit the front stub frame , fenders , inner fenders, hood, etc... from the New Yorker parts car I got with the G, because the G stub frame was torch off to donate it's front bumper sometime ago. I expected a lot of trouble but that front clip, so to speak, fell right at home on the G and fit is exellent! Now let's move inside the car, which is the point of this tread... Original tach, cable, and distributor are long gone from this car so I thought I will just put in an electric Mopar tach from 64 Dodge/Plymouth console and do away with a Mopar Performance distributor. BUT... upon taking the console out of the G, just resting under it, waiting to be found, is the original G tach!! Sooo, maybe I could try to find a tach cable and distributor and things will look more original. I see that Atlas Obsolete Parts sell a new tach cable. Question 1 : Anybody out there tried it? Does it fit o.k.(ie cable lenght and cable end tread size)? On ebay is a rebuilt distributor that is advertized as fitting 60-61 ram cars plus 62 H and 63-64 ram cars. On housing is cast or stamped IBS 1014A. My Chrysler parts book doesn't have that #. Question 2 : Any of you guys with distributor experience, feel welcome to comment on this distributor #...will it work on the G?? Thank you! Jean-Yves in northern New Brunswick ( here you really need a pair of snow shoes to go for a walk across the field right now...)
