Yes, here we go again. I am at peace with the premise that there is enough protection for my engines in the high quality conventional engine oils I use without additives. And, I do have it on good authority, and it does make sense also, that adding ZDDP can be harmful when overdone. So, what I do is use 15W-40 Long Life Pennzoil or Shell Rotella 15W-40 (and there are others that work also) or if my concern is heightened or I need somthing like a 10W-30 oil, I will use an ACEA A3/B4 rated synthetic and leave lubrication chemistry to people I really think know what they are doing.
