Re: [Chrysler300] C300 & 300B window flap springs

Hi Rich,
Sorry I missed your questions earlier. My 56's ( presumably the same as
your 55) all have a small, plastic "foot cover" about 1/4 to 3/8 inch long
that covers the end. On two of my cars they appear to be black or very dark
grey, the other 2 (the 300's) they are beige-brown. They appear to have
been glued on, but gravity helps as even my 345,000 mile car still has both,
and not falling apart - so tough plastic was used. I've never seen anything
like these offered for sale, nor do I think an amateur could make one. Best
bet would be a parts car where the doors were intact.
The whole mechanism is separated from the upper door opening chrome trim by
sturdy, but not stiff, flap running the entire length of the window opening
and then almost 2 inches beyond over the rear window chrome trim. It shows
about 1/2 inch wide but it goes up under the upper door opening chrome and I
suspect across the top of the entire flapper mechanism. Again I have never
seen this piece offered or even referred to, so I suspect it is another
"fabrication challenge", although this one would be possible to do.
If you want close up pictures get back to me and I'll do the best I can. All
the Best 300ing,
Phil Irish
