Today a gentleman named Peter Vorum came by to take a couple measurements of the ram tubes on my 300F. Mr. Vorum is a theoretical intake manifold expert, to use his description of himself, and has written a number of papers for the Society of Mechanical Engineers. He had, in the trunk of his car, a single ram tube, and the crossover tube from a 300. He had purchased the set some time back, he said, over the internet. The ram tube, however, had no choke pit, just smooth on both sides of the carb mounting area. Also it had no provisions on the bottom of the carb area for the exhaust heating. Again, just a smooth bottom. It is possible that this ram tube (he said he had the other tube at home) was from one of the four-speed 300Fs that had no carb heating or choke?
