Re: [Chrysler300] Engine Paint - Chrysler Turquoise

Jean-Yves, Pete, and All:
I will have the Chrysler master paint chip for the turquoise engine paint at
the Maine Meet. If any of you attending have some paint to compare, spray
out a sample and bring it to the meet..

Pete.
I have used Por-15 engine paint a few times with very good results. I think
their Chrysler Turquoise is pretty close to the original engine color of the
time. The paint takes a while to dry(at least that's what my painter said)
but holds on pretty good, you will be able to judge by yourself at the Maine
meet by looking at my K engine, which was painted 6 years and 20,000 miles
ago... Por-15 also has Chrysler Blue(which is a darker shade of blue) and that
is not correct for the 64 engine, it's for early 70's 318 engine or
something...

Subject: [Chrysler300] Engine Paint - Chrysler Turquoise

Hi Group:

As you are all probably aware, there are several different shades of
paint sold as Chrysler Turquoise. Does anyone have a particular paint that
is
the proper color for the '63-64 engines? I have seen very nice light shades
and very intense darker shades, but have no idea of which is correct. It
isn't the biggest deal in the world, but if I can get the correct paint, I
would
rather use that than something else.

See you all in Maine next week.

Thanks -

Pete Fitch
