Hi Joe, I use a bushing driver almost the same size as the seal to drive them in. They should not be bottomed in the bore, as they may not be contacting the seal surface on the axle. You may have to measure to check this. Sometimes the spring on the seal pops off and lands in the housing. It can be put back on with some careful use of a pick. I use the modern rubber type, not the old leather ones. I hope this helps. 300ly, Don Verity 300-G Consultant ----- Original Message ----- From: bluesport62 To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 6:37 PM Subject: [Chrysler300] leaky axle seals hello in 300 land.. is there a special way to install rear axle seals. my shop is doing for the third time in as many months.he said he has the rite seals. but idont think so i will get them and try again. i have the part #s. please drop me a line if there is something i should know. besides changing shops. john hertog i sure miss you. thanks JOE LUCIANO 62 SPORT [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/Yahoo!
