Personally I think a 300 member in the area should pull John out of that "facility" for the afternoon. Stick him in his favorite model Lettercar, 300F or G, and take him foot to the floorboards down the freeway with the windows down and only the noise of ram induction, that's freedom. Sure beats walking round and round in circles in a courtyard. Oh I know....... the doctors say blah, blah, blah, can't do this, can't do that. (see below) He was very responsive at times and had a great appetite. (I was there at lunch time). He has grown a full beard and is walking around under his own power and complaining about institutional food. We spoke a little about Barrett-Jackson and he remembered my collection. He shares a very bright spotless room, and is free to walk around the facility at will. There is an outdoor courtyard which he also utilizes, weather permitting. The family, from what I was told, are trying to relocate him to another facility further west in Suffolk County. I'll stop by again next week and check on him. Subject: Re: John Hertog visit Vic, This is all well and good, and I, for one, agree with you on your suggestion, BUT, the key factor here is HOW IS JOHN? You didn't address this in your message. If you saw John and perhaps were able to speak with him, please relay what you learned, if anything to the rest of us. Many people would like to know! Thanks. _____ At 03:49 PM 3/13/2008, you wrote: Hello Club, I just came from visiting John at his rehab facility. A brand new, very pleasant place. While it is pleasant, I thought that maybe the club could send some flowers, on occasion, to put a face on the club that he has devoted so much time and energy to. I think it would lift his spirits to know that we are all thinking of him. I don't know who is in charge of the clubs finances, and who approves expenditures, but I don't think this would be a financial burden on the treasury.
