[Chrysler300] gas tank repair

I have a 300F. I need to seal a leak in the tank.POR15 has a kit that seals a tank. It's a 3 step project with the sealer last( of course) The problem is how to keep the sealer from cloging the gas outlet tube. with the tank off does the outlet tube come out with the float?   Victor
