[Chrysler300] thank you re 55 NY convert replies & an aussie 300 grouping

Thank you to all those who replied to my earlier posting re what a fully resto'ed '55 Nyorker convert may be worth.

I will forward those who asked/offered particular things on to the car's owner tomorrow night, and/or give those in US his contact details. so they may contact him.

And following yesterday's Club site mention of yet another 300 apparently heading here downunder, I also intend to finally act re seeing what interest in forming a 300 Owners Club/Grouping in Australia. Even seeing a current 300(C) on daily roads is still rare here, let alone a/any true early 300, so it cannot do any harm if there are a few 300 owners here that can at the least keep each others better motivated re 300s/projects, rather than see projects slow and stall as often do when the fire/passion suffers hurdles/other myriad things that happen ?!

To avoid disappointment (this an appealing thought?) , any aussie300 grouping likely will set low initial targets - maybe just a combined email contact address system where we can just post any news/queries, plus maybe odd meets, garage visits?, in places/Cities where there are already few 300 owners living?!

Today I got my first, longest user, 300C, out of winter hibernation/storage/garage, took it's heavy blue cotton US car cover of it, drove it forward away from it's two 69/70 Grand Prix sleeping partners, out into the early morning sun outside garage - boy after months covered/hidden that 1957 300C is one great/stunning looking 50s car - especially if in red with chrome wires, wws - set slightly lower at front/nose.

I had to move my (white w white top usually a knockout car to onlookers) 58 Cad convert, plus later in the day went down to my storage shed where I have my 62 XKE red with biscuit interior roadster - this a car in roadster form regularly awarded by motor scribes/magazines/purists, as one of world's best ever looks/sensual cars. Trust me, the old 57 300C is not far behind the old Jag 61-63 XKE Roadster, plus I challenge anyone to name cars that make it look second rate?!
And then there are the too many other great looking 50s-early 60s 300s.
Gas prices may have gone to the hell, but they can't take away those amazing looks/style/history/etc that our 300s have - that before one even just punches/pushes the "D" button as one holds one's foot on the brake pedal to hold that noisy lifter hemi.

All I have to do is get my other 2 300Cs completely finished, which hopefully will get moving soon after some 'setbacks' not planned on - but meantime at least one old 300C will be pretty occasionally flying the 'C/300' flag downunder here for now.

Once again maybe too much from me,
Christopher

will advise next week if 'Plan A' re aussie 300 grouping is a goer
