John, you could use some JB Weld and washers for a semi-permeant fix, or braze/spot weld the washers in place. Also, I think I lunched a speedometer cable on the way back as well, as the needle fell to zero after some not nice noises. You might look and see if the shop shoved, jammed, or otherwise moved the cable out of the way. It may just be a little kinked for "clearance".
