[Chrysler300] Short Tale of my own.....Ignorance !!!!

Reading Marks and Kens Funny stories reminded me of one that I thought would be nice to share.

At 16 years of age, my very first car was a White 300G. This was in 1968 and if I recall semi-correctly, gas back then may have been around 30 cents +/_ per gallon. One of my first things to do was to take the G to the local car wash. The car wash was only about 8 blocks away. I drive there to wash the car and engine compartment. I've seen my dad wash his engine compartment before and he covered his distributor with plastic and a rubber band or something like that, so I did the same.
I washed down the engine, then the car and chamiosed the car while still in the wash booth. After all of that was done I get into the car to start it to go for a drive. I turn the key and it would not start...Nothing, didn't even turn over. Now I am going nuts. What did I do wrong ? Dad ( some of his nice cars were a 1955 DeSoto, 2 dr. hardtop WITH PushButton Transmission...oh yes it did, a 1957 Plymouth Station Wagon and a very nice 1962 Chrysler 300 Station Wagon) always did it without any problems. Did I get the wrong something wet to prevent it from starting ? I go and open the hood and everything looked ok, but what did I know at 16 ? I probably tried to jiggle the battery cables to see if they were loose and they seemed to be ok. So I get back in the car, turn the key, and nothing. Probably tried that several more times with no success. I am now going nuts. What happened to my G?
So I sit there and think about the series of events and try to figure what in the world could have happened to prevent the G from starting. While sitting there I look at the PushButton selector and see that it's still in "D". I pushed the "N' button and it started right up and off I went. Apparently when I drove into the car wash I just shut it off and set the "E" brake.
End of story and sorry it tok so long to get to the end.
Happy 300'ing everyone...and Happy 4th of July !!!!!!
Be Well, Be Safe but most of all Have Fun !!!!!
