[Chrysler300] Is this Progress getting the G of the Road



Hi 300 Group

Thanks for help with wheel Alignment spec questions.

Brought the G to the Chrysler dealer ship for the Friday Appointment.

( The G Attracts the techs like flies to honey.  Never saw one.)

The alignment tech looks at the rear wheel well opening and
decides he can't attach the rear wheel alignment "thingee"
so he can't use his hi tech computer alignment machine.
Need to use the "Old TYME" alignment front wheel machine.

Stopped at the Hunter Alignment Shop (40 or 50 Years there)
Talked to the new owner ( the young kid under the car,  maybe early 30's )
He took over the shop from his dad.
Ask him if he had ever done a 61 Chrysler.   Yes he had,  He got his start
working on all the "old Cars" hanging around the shop working with his dad.
Got an appointment for next Wednesday.

One step forward two or three steps back.

While driving the car in the driveway, warming it up, checking the brakes
and transmission, etc, etc, etc. ( no highway miles on the car )
I pull the 300G up to the garage door and shut it down.
Get out of the car and walk around to the passenger side and
hear a  Hisssssing sound and notice steamy passenger side front window.
Green coolant is squirting out from under the passenger side of the dash.
Soaking the carper and pad and a general interior mess.
So now I'm trying to get the mess all cleaned up.
I going to replace the carpet pad with new ( I had two layers of felt pad
under the carpet, so it really got soaked up )

I need to keep the black carpet ( it's new ).

I shop vac-ed it dry, but how do I clean it to 
get the "antifreeze residue"  Oilyness out of the carpet??

I also disconnected the two heater hoses from the 
water pump the plugged the outlets. ( Summer in Minnesota
and I have winter coats and gloves for fall driving)
I do want to get the "heater fixed".

What breaks on the heater?
I'm assuming it is the heater core.
Or could it be a heater valve?
Is this leak fixable from under the hood?
Do the "rams" need to come off to get access to the heater core?
Are new heater cores available?
Can the old heater core be fixed?

I think the question about heater cores was addressed
on the forum this winter, but it didn't apply then.
