Re: [Chrysler300] 1958-392 Torque Converter Removal

Hi John,

Replace two nuts, on opposite sides of the crankshaft, and using a dead-blow
hammer, rap the torque converter around the flywheel edge ( toward the rear
of the car ) until it loosens. The nuts are used to keep the flywheel from
cutting you into two pieces. Remove the two nuts and remove the converter (
carefully ).

Hopes this helps.

I've just removed the eight bolts and eight lockwashers that hold the torque
converter to the crankshaft on my '58 300-D's 392.

The torque converter will not come off! Am I missing something?

Thanks,
