Lube, lube, lube. Lube the tracks (runs try Silicone spray) and all the pivot points in the lift (use white grease). If you have the lift out of the car, do NOT remove the motor without clamping the arms down. The motor is under high tension, and if you unbolt it and pull it off, that releases the spring. That coil spring will whip a lift arm around fast and hard and can harm or kill you.
