Hi All: This was John Hertog's answer to the non-honking horn problem. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to. 300ly, Gil Cunningham In a message dated 11/17/2005 12:05:15 AM Eastern Standard Time, crossram@xxxxxxxxxxxxx writes: Hi George, Here's my semi-easy fix : 1/procure a battery and a set of good jumper cables. 2/remove horn from car. 3/ spray a healthy dose of WD-40 into the mouth of the horn. 4/ slosh all around so that WD-40 finds it way into the center. Suggest tuning shop radio to disco music and then doing a John Travolta imitation while holding horn. Shake it, baby ! 5/ empty horn as best as possible. Do the John Travolta routine backwards. 6/ clamp negative battery cable to body of horn securely. Attach cables to battery. Point horn away from car or any other cherished object as WD-40 may fly out of it. Now touch positive cable to terminal on horn. Honk ? 7/ If horn starts to honk, let it do so for some few seconds, even if it means incurring the wrath of Ms. Nosybody, your next door neighbor.. horn, however, may just "click" or groan or make some definitely un-Moparlike noises . It may however free itself up and start honking quite nicely. 8/ You may need to adjust the little adjustment knob ... need special socket so as not to damage cosmetically; or, if you don't care, a pair of vise-grips will do the trick (but leave marks) . Usually, after a good soak in WD-40 and the application of some good electrical current, the horn will start to honk; sometimes one has to play with the adjuster...
