So I am riding through Newport Rhode Island today...I had a meeting with a charter company related to the show that I am doing up there this year. I took a wrong turn and ended up in a complex consisting of metal pre-fab buildings with small businesses in them. In one of them was a very small shop where a guy was working on a car. It was something late model. I turned around to leave and spotted a white 300K sitting, obviously for quite some time, in the corner of the lot next to a fence. It had a cross ram motor but I was unable to get the vin as the drivers side was right next to a fence with literally an inch or two of clearance....but is was a K. The proprietor of the shop did not own the car but knows the owner. The car was a strong #5 condition car....non-runner but could be made to run with minimal effort....automatic with a five button radio. Anyone know if it? I left my number...maybe I will hear from the owner. An interesting aside (that also might be a clue): The same gentleman also owns a '70 E body with a 440 motor. It is right hand drive and was converted by Chrysler at the factory for the buyer who was being relocated to Australia. There was also a '68 Mopar muscle car as well. I did not get to see these cars as they was locked in an adjacent building. It was a fun distraction.
