I was testing a new search tool on the internet, it catalogs website forums only I used Chrysler 300 G for the search terms and found this 'What Happened today in history' for Nov 13. It was posted in a forum on http://insider.speedtv.com NOVEMBER 13, 1955 - Hickory, North Carolina, USA...Tim Flock came back from a spin to win the 200 lap NASCAR Grand National race on the .4 mile dirt Hickory Speedway. The race opened the 1956 GN season. Flock won the pole and led the first 121 laps in his Kiekhaefer Chrysler before spinning in turn 3. Lee Petty took the lead, but Flock ran him down and regained the lead on the 139th lap. Flock took the checkered 7 seconds ahead of Curtis Turner's Ford with Petty 3rd in a Dodge, the last finisher on the lead lap. NASCAR used a novel approach to serial scoring in the event. Each car prominently displayed a letter assigned by NASCAR and each scorer was given a typewriter with only the corresponding key functionable. -- Paul Holmgren 2 57 300-C's in Indy Hoosier Corps L#6 To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm Yahoo!
