Hi Del; You don't understand the bidding process. When you bid, say 5K above the current bid, it will actually show only the next increment of bid. When someone else bids against you, unless they outbid the whole 5K, it will automatically raise your bid for you and outbid them. They have to bid again, and again, until they get past what you have "In reserve". This again, and again bidding is what you're seeing. "luvemegabloks" 1st bid was $37,000.00 ---------- @ Jan-04-06 14:26:23 PST, but "decocarguy" ---------- had bid $46,001.01 ---------- Jan-04-06 09:19:52 PST, about 5 hours earlier. "cadreammach" didn't jump his bids for "no impetus" at all. He was bidding against a higher bid, already made earlier. He started bidding at Jan 04 17:22:35. Note that "damian" had made a bid of $50K at 17:19:48, 3 minutes before "cadreammach" started bidding. Look at the times of the bids, the list is in amount order, so oft times a higher bid was made minutes, hours or even days earlier. Not to say that "Ring Men" aren't bidding sometimes for a friend (or themselves) but if you look at any Bid History where there is a lot of bidding you'll see bid after bid from the same person, trying to get past a "you've just been outbid" notice, just look at the higher bids for the earlier bid time. And the bottom line is that no matter what any of us think (and we'll each peg a different price) anything is worth what someone will pay. He pays that high price because someone is willing to pay slightly less. I go to auctions every week and buy stuff for our own use and to sell on eBay. I have my limit on what I'll pay for something and I'll get it sometimes for much less if no one wants it or lose it if someone wants it more than I do.
