Might not want to trade your old part. Good original rebuildable alternators
are hard to come by.

Part you bought will work. Alternators after MY 1970 were solid state
regulator controlled and required an isolated field design.

You could go away from original and retrofit the later design solid state
regulator. Many benefits here.

Replacement alternator probably is of  higher output capacity than original
design unit. This is good also.

Replacement part you bought should have had instruction sheet with retrofit
jumper wire. One field wire must now be jumper wire grounded to alternator
case if you want to stay with OE one wire regulator.
