If so, and the club gets behind the project, (or a member) please put me in for two!! Additionally, with all the brain power out there, would it be out of the question to design and fabricate 3-4 generic tanks, with the clubs blessings .I'm sure every part on the vehicles at Pebble Beach (the home of the purist) did not come out of a factory carton. Please don't start yelling at me . I am a purist in the greatest sense but as time goes on , I think we must face the inevitable . These tanks are one of the weakest links on these Brutes. I've heard many noises about different people making these tanks but as yet nothing has happened that I am aware of. I can appreciate the amount of tooling needed to make them but c'mon this has been going on for a number of years. I think Dave's idea of the Club getting behind the reproduction tanks is great. My 2c worth. Several years ago there was talk going around about a project, I believe it was underway by the folks in Sweden, to repop the gas tanks for the 57-59 cars. I have missed the last few meets and was wondering what, if any, progress has been made. Perhaps we should belly up to the bar, so to speak, either individually or as a Club, and back this project to help get it off the ground if it has become stalled, maybe even to the point of throwing some Club Money at it. Are you listening Board of Directors?? I, for one, could use 2 of these and would be willing to commit to the purchase once an approximate price range has been determined. Just think how nice one would look under the nice solid trunk floor of our Parade Green C!!!
