Anyone know the easiest way to change the fluted rubber brake booster bellows by removing the least/easiest number of things/parts while it is mounted on the car - seem to be only two options/ways ? 1) It looks like you either have to break/remove top inside firewall insulation/sound proofing to get to the four nuts that hold the booster to the vertical mounting plate that runs behind the booster and master cylinder. If so, how does one do this without destroying/damaging the insulation? 2) the other way seems remove the master cylinder, then you are able to remove booster with vertical mount plate that comes off with booster now it not trapped behind master cylinder? Is there any other way, only takes a few seconds to write down both options, but way more difficult whichever one one tries, hanging upside down, working around steering column and wiring!! (clearly you need booster off to loosen nuts that hold rear of rubber bellows to booster housing - what a mongrel, who designed this stupid idea/means, usually when things like this are made impossible to work on easily, over here in Australia we blame the pommies/British, because very often most things on English cars beggar comonsense re working on them!??! Watch the video "The Gods must be Crazy" for the part where the mechanic is working on the old British Land Rover under the tree, and you know what I am taliking about) Any ideas/help much appreciated - gas prices here back up around $5.65 again, jumped 60c yesterday - they just rip us off and govt here says/does nothing, they taking big slice.
