Thanks to Terry & Philippe. The 1955-58 Chrysler Passenger Car Parts List apparently has no Section 20. I found Page 16-1 on the back of my copied Page 16-2. The page had its 3-ring binder perforations on the wrong side. Duhh. Section 16 deals with "Propeller Shafts" and I was looking for a shaft for a car, not a plane (more duhh). Anyway, the parts book does not seem to list the 3 1/2" OD by 59 13/32" long driveshaft that the Service Manual lists for a 1955 New Yorker with air conditioning or a C-300 with (!) or without air conditioning. Oh, dreadful inconsistencies. Does anyone know where the part number is found on a driveshaft? I bought a spare, but it seems to have come from a Windsor based on length. The ball & trunnion section was full of black, heavy tarlike grease. Is that the proper stuff? I'm just getting acquainted with my new parts book, but it appears the front trunnion joint bodies are different for Windsors & New Yorkers. Are the trunnion bodies and internal parts available? How about the rear U-joint? I found it interesting to note that Chrysler calls the 1955 C-300 a C68-300 with C68 being a New Yorker. The horn ring went for $255.01. Beep beep. C300'ly, Rich Barber Brentwood, CA 1955 C-300 (or is it a C68-300?) ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Get fast access to your favorite Yahoo! Groups.
