If your compressor is not working, it will have to be replaced with a remanufactured unit. Shops do not repair the internals of A/C compressors. Your receiver/drier should be replaced whenever the system is opened. Here, we do not except when major repairs are accomplished as we are not dealing with high humidity. I would suggest that an independant shop that specializes in A/C work be consulted. Be mindful that not all will have the experience necessary to work with old Chrysler technology that is not highly sophisticated but that some shops have never had to deal with. Mass merchandiser shops like Sears and Pep Boys for instance should definately be kept away from your car. Would also strongly suggest that system be recharged with R12 and NOT be retrofitted to R134A or any other refrigerant and that work on the car not be intrusted to any shop or person that suggests otherwise.
