David: I see that you have had a lot of good input, but I didn't see any discussion of out-of-roundness and/or flat spots. Some tires take a permanent set and may be in dynamic balance, but still give the feel of unbalance as the high spot and/or flat spot comes around. I presume a tire shop can measure runout or out of round while on the car. I'd guess we'd all be interested in brand, size, cord material and age.
