Hello from Italy seems the engine is now running a lot better, with correct lifter preload. Would like to thank all the nice guys who helped me with the correct settings. Now am trying to get the kickdown linkage to work properly. Seems that under full throttle, trans is shifting from first at high rpm, then second gear stays for a very short time, and then goes into third gear. Don't understand why second gear stays for such a short time, upshifting into third almost immediately. Carbs seem to be working on their own. Even after rebuild, idle is very erratic, sometimes car is stalling, sometimes runs well. Anyone has swapped to Edelbrock carbs? Any problems?
