Re: FW: Re: [Chrysler300] Dot 4 mixed with Dot 5 Silicone

When I first used Dot 5 in my B many years ago, the fluid was purple in
color. I have since seen it in other colors. I suppose it would have been
too much to ask of the fluid manufacturers, but seems that a color code
standard should have been established for the different flavors.
Particularly since the mixing of the fluids can have costly ill effects and
could be a severe safety issue. Another example of engineers sitting in
their ivory towers and not going out in the real world to see what us
chickens are eating out here before foisting their latest bright idea on the
unsuspecting consumer? Same applies to antifreezes that have a sweetened
flavor thereby encouraging pets and children(and adults looking for a high)
to sample it, often to fatal outcomes. Some 50 years later, they now place
a bitter tasting substance in it to discourage ingestion.
