Richard, Replacing the ball and trunion is not a simple job. The pin must be pressed out and in again with a large hydraulic press, probably 20-25 ton capacity. When the pin is replaced, it must be exactly centered or it will vibrate. Others may know where to get the housing and bearings, I do know the boot is available new from Roberts Motor Parts. www.robertsmotorparts.com I would not use an old NOS boot as I have had failure of those in a matter of 2,000 miles. You might want to wait until after the meet to do the job. All looked good except I found the ball and trunnion to have much more "slop" than I would care for. I know these have been hard to find, but I thought I remembered someone stating a while back that there was a new supply of these? Was it Andy Bernbaums' (sorry for the spelling)? Does any one have a set that may be going to the MI Meet that is willing to sell? Does the drive shaft need to be balanced after replacing this? Can I swap this out in the parking lot? Thanks for your help. This drive shaft was supposedly rebuilt while I had the car apart for restoration. Best regards, Richard Osborne Cols. OH ------------------------ Yahoo!
