I believe the hood pad would absorb more sound (and dirt) if the fuzzy side was facing the engine. My C-300 has the under side of the hood undercoated, just to be different. It probably does absorb some sound and might help prevent drumming and oil canning. I didn't do it! The big white brute took three awards at the Good Guy all American Get Together in Pleasanton, CA today. A nice birthday present as the car was 50 years old last week. As usual, our car was one of three MoPars in a sea of bellybutton cars. Also, as usual, lots of interest from car guys of all ages. Made contact with the new owner of the Pahrump Tango Red '55. He says it is VIN #1015. Several of you have commented on this modified car that has a 392, air, disc brakes(?), improper wheels & tires. The new owner lives in nearby Livermore and we will try to get him into the club where he can get resto-religion (he is a pastor!). We will try to show them together in the local shows and I hope to bring him and the car to South Lake Tahoe. Question of the day: How many spokes on the original Motor Wheel brand wire wheels on the 1955 C-300? Mine has 48 and I see others have 52.
