Just got back from the auction.  I am beat....the day ran very long.  My car got up to the block over two hours late.  Bidding was robust but stumbled at $42,500 well short of my 48K reserve.  I have a slot a Barrett Jackson in Florida.  I will offer the car to the club members first though at $42,000.  Buyer will have to wait two weeks so I don't have to pay sellers fee to A/C people.   Car is currently in A/C and if I hear from someone tonight, I will divert and ship directly it to them.  Paperwork will take two weeks to clear (not released by A/C people until then).  I will require wire payment on Monday.  Shipper will have instructions to not release car until funds have been received.
 
Only thing the car really needs is the completion of the chrome removal in the engine.  I did some work on the interior, the paint has been totally cleaned up....there is one tiny chip on the trunk remaining.
 
Also, a really nice hard-top C was a no sale in the low '50's.  Someone said the owner had a reserve of 70K on it.  It is an odd color but the car is gorgeous!
 
I just confirmed a deal with Car Collector magazine to do a four part series commencing in their May issue on the restoration of the G three speed.  Hopefully this will make for some good reading.

Henry, It seems the prices are holding.  A 300H convertible (3- condition) just went for 59K.  They are certainly getting attention.  My hard top red G is set to go tomorrow at 6:00 at Kruse (#1864).  I will drop a note to let you know how it does.
