Chrysler Factory Tachs

Bought a console from a 67 Dodge for use in the '66 300M Club Sport. The 
factory tach has three wires plus the light wire. Do these connect to some sort 
of tach sending unit that I don't have or just to hot, ground, and coil. 
Probably the 65L fourspeed tach is the same as this Dodge. How is the message 
received on these factory tachs?
