Pointe Transmission

Several weeks ago I notified the Chrysler 300 and Forward Look groups about the problems that I had with a place called Pointe Transmission in St. Clair Shores which is a NE suburb of Detroit. They screwed up the rebuild of the
transmission in my '97 Dodge minivan and when I took it back they spent nearly a week redoing after having spent
nearly a week rebuilding it the first time. Prior to that, I had them rebuild the trans on my C300 last summer. The
transmission appears to be working properly but they screwed up when they reinstalled the starter by not fastening
it properly. As a result, it started making noise when I made right-hand turns the other day when I was showing the
300 to a guy interested in buying it. The noise sounded like the fan hitting something. Needless to say, that turned
off the potential buyer. I took the car to my mechanic who specializes in redoing classic cars to find out why it made
that weird noise. It took a couple of hours but he and his helper discovered that it was the starter which I had rebuilt
just prior to the transmission. The starter was loose which means that the transmission shop didn't refasten it properly
when they redid the transmission. So besides causing me to lose several days of work due to them having my minivan
for so long, they cost me the opportunity to sell my C300. Consequently, I'm asking all of you in the metro Detroit area
to notify all of your friends and relatives about Pointe Transmission and to avoid doing business with them. By the way,
I had mentioned this to another friend of mine and he also informed me that he had a bad experience with Pointe
Transmission not too long ago.
