Robert: Below is a copy of an e-mail John sent me on exactly this topic: No - not faster ratio; just "Firm-Feel" which makes the box "less power" and eliminates that overly light steering. There are various degrees of "Firm-Feel". My gold 300G has a regular "FirmFeel" rebuild and it is a pleasure; when I had my '62 300 box redone, I had it 3 levels up of Firm-Feel, and it was ..uncanny, best comparion is that it was like driving a modern, front-wheel drive, non-power manual steering car. There are two-three outfits that specialise in rebuilding the boxes.. the best one to use is "Steer and Gear" in Ohio Steer & Gear 1000 Barnett Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43227, The other outfit, "Firm Feel Inc. " on the west coast around Seattle or Portland, will do the same thing, but for $100 more than Steer and Gear. Steer and Gear is really quick about turnaround, too ! I want to make sure it gets done right. > > Bob > > From the barn in the Mountains of NM. > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > To send a message to this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm > > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > Your use of Yahoo!
