I would like to offer possibly a different approach to this. We as enthusiast of Letter Cars is great, but we look at things entirely different than the majority of the buying public. The buyer of a Chrysler 300M for the most part has no interest in earlier examples of the mark. They simply purchase it because they like the styling, value or the deal they can make versus the competition. Living in Southern California where there are more cars and probably car nuts than most anywhere else I've experienced virtually no interest from the drivers of a 300M. Whether it be a week day or weekend if I take one of my four letter cars out for a drive on surface streets or the freeway I always watch the reaction of the driver of a 300M when I pass. Nine times out of ten there is simply no reaction. This past weekend we drove our 300F from Orange County to the Spring Fling show in the San Fernando Valley some 50+ miles away. I probably passed 6 or more 300M's on this trip with no reaction from any of the owners. Even in stop and go traffic which we encountered and being next to one of the "new breed" for some time and distance there is no reaction. I did get several thumbs up, honks and even questions about our car in slow traffic, but not one comment from a 300M owner. With this area being strong in the foreign car arena and high dollar ones at that we get far more recognition I think because a lot of these folks are "car people" and take an interest in something different and unique. My point is that the current buyer of these cars is for the most part no interested in the car other than an object to get them from point A to B. Chrysler will sell them to the general public weather we approve or not. There is a saying out here about AM's and that simply means "automotive morons". I've been saving up for the Hemi C convert concept from a couple years ago. Now, that's my idea of a new letter car. NO FOUR DOORS, unless they want to bring back the 'non-letter' 300 designation (as I believe they should have with the original M). > Just one mans opinion. I currently own a G vert, and a C coupe, but have owned a 55 C300, G coupe, 62 non-letter, and 70 Hurst in the past. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Wayne Graefen [mailto:wgraefen@xxxx] > Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2003 8:29 AM > To: Intl 300 > Subject: [Chrysler300] NEW 300C from Chrysler! > > > Click the link to see the new 300C from Chrysler! > > http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=5945 > > When you have seen the car and read the article, I have a hunch there will be some comments from among the members, particularly those who own the ORIGINAL 300C. > > Ahem, ahem. > Wayne > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > To send a message to this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm > > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > Your use of Yahoo!
