Yet another leaky transmission Question(s)

Thanks for the lead-in..
If a '57 Torqueflight is leaking at the kick-down lever shaft seal...
1. is the fix do-able from the outside? -just slide in/on a new seal?
2. where can I find a new seal?

The C coupe began bleeding profusely last evening from the kick-down shaft area. Back on jack stands. tahnsk. mike v

Hi Terry,
If you have to take it out, you may have to remove the parking brake drum
and backing plate to get it far enough back to clear the bellhousing. I had
to do this on a 56 NYer convert that I put a torqueflite into. More than
likely though, it's leaking from either the shift cable, kickdown lever
shaft seal, or the neutral switch.
