Hello Group- My experience with the new computer controlled transmissions is this- they do not last any where near as long as the rwd torqueflites did. My 94 Vision fried its transmission at 100,000 mile after being serviced at 50,000 and no hard or severe use. The next one, a 98 Intrepid w/111,000 miles was headed that way. Never serviced the Intrepid trany- figured why after the last one? At work we use a 99 Dodge 1 ton 15 pass. van and it has gone thru 3 transmissions in 90,000 miles, 90% interstate miles, never loaded to max, never tows anything. ALSO- when it comes to these new transmissions- cheaper is definitely not better. A good friend of mine just retired from the business after 30+ years and he was thoroughly disgusted with the way the "new" stuff is designed and built. My advise is- wherever you get the work done- shop for the best warranty, then price. You may save the cost of another tranny job for a few hundred bucks, if you have problems again. See the van story above......Ist time out of factory warranty, second warranty, third as well. If you go thru the dealer it should be covered at any dealer, especially if they install a factory remanufactured unit thru Mopar parts. Grinds in 1st and 2nd while driving. Local dealer says 2,300.00 to replace. AAMCO says 1,900.00 > > Anyone have idea on good source for rebuilt or remanufactured Chrysler transmissions? I found a website(www.rebuilt-auto-tranmission.com ) where they advertise 1,200.00 but still sounds high but could be fair if good company. At that price when paying shipping and for installation probably better off at Chrysler dealer or AAMCO > > I am ready to duck the incoming's for asking for info on a non 300 Chrysler part but this info could be of use to 300 owners also. > > Roger Schaaf > 300 B Calif > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > To send a message to this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm > > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: > Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > Your use of Yahoo!
