The external appearance of a sure-grip rear end is identical to a regular one. There may be a tag on one of the studs that attach it to the housing that lists the ratio, or "use limited slip lube only". If you turn one axle, the other should turn in the same direction if it's sure-grip equipped. The most accurate way to tell ratio would be to remove the chuck, it's stamped on the ring gear. 300ly, Don ----- Original Message ----- From: John Spiers <spiers@xxxx> To: <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 19, 2002 4:48 PM Subject: [Chrysler300] identifying Sure-Grip vs Non-Sure Grip rear ends > > Hi all- > > I have a complete rear end assembly from a '64 C-body.
