You got it. Thanks. I know that he sold the car a 3 or 4 years ago and I had seen it once since then at some event but never found who now owns it. He bought the auto in PA or CT. I had found it advertised in Hemming or perhaps one of our newsletters and called his to tell him about it. He had made a pass at buying my B(wasn't for sale) at a car show in Palo Alto that I was displaying at and told me then of his Mila Miglia and how off-beat it would be to enter a 300( had to be from proper years of the race) with all the world class sports car types from the early 50's that had run in the original Italian version of this race. Later after buying this car I had seen him with it a couple of times and he told me of the disc conversion(front only) and how well the brakes now performed. Said that conversion was basically a one off effort done by someone he knew and whose name escapes me now. Somewhere I have seen pictures of this car as it participated in this event as it was encircled by all of the little fire ant sized sports autos also entered. Was some great pictures of the cars on the back roads of Calif. Clarence Bacon's auto is a red c300 with as I remember having 4 wheel discs, lowered, a 392 with torqueflite and AC. Looked like a great car to do a cross country route 66 tour in. Roger Schaaf ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles M. He sponsored the Calif. Mila Miglia and ran his c300 in it against all the European sports cars such as Alfa, Ferrari, Jaguar and kept with them very well except for the 300 brakes. He then converted them to disc's. Name will come to me soon. He no longer owns the car but it is still floating around out there somewhere with big numbers stenciled on the doors giving the car entry number. Larry Jett will remember his name. I actually found the car for this fellow when he approached me one time asking about 55 or 56's(I have a 56) telling me that he wished to run one in his Mila Miglia. > > Another fellow advertises that he does these cars for disc brakes.
