Mike,

All 300Ls came with the small (called "unsilenced" by Chrysler) aircleaner. 
They have a small snorkel tube, which on all cars other than California, is 
covered by a rubber or plastic cap. For California cars, a hose ran from 
the snorkel to the PCV valve.

The aircleaner should be semi-gloss black with a black cap.
