Re: [Chrysler300] CAMSHAFT RECOMMONDATION

The early chrysler 300s had some some relatively mild cam grinds, compared to todays offerings. A more modern grind would definately be of a benefit and the right cam will definately improve the high compression/ low
gas quality problem we have with the older engines. Call one of the more reputable cam grinders' tech help line numbers and tell them what what you need, they should know better than any of us what the best choice would be. If you're going to be surfacing the block and heads, I would suggest investing in some adjustable rocker arms & pushrods, Chrysler engines really really respond nicely to having all the hydraulic lifters preloaded evenly- something that a lot of todays mechanics don't even check when they assemble an engine.

Building the 413 out of my 1962 300.

It's being bored to .40 over, the crank is being machined 10-10, the
block will be surfaced along with the heads.

I need to replace the camshaft and am wondering is anyone has a
particular brand and spec to recommend. I'm considering a small
performance camshaft (nothing too crazy) to go with this high
compression motor.

Any ideas?
