oil trans. level on '57 Torqueflite

Since yesterday i try to send this message on the list without
result because i sent at wrong adress (...classicar or ....
ls004).

Does someone has the explanations about "how to check oil
transmission". My canadian 57/59 FSM isn't very comprehensive:
you need a rule (don't have rule in inches..) and determine if
engine is cold or hot (easy ..) , if you have an early dipstick,
etc.. If someone as the '57 Chrysler / Imperial FSM and could
send me (privatly) the test, thanks.
