Hi Johnnie; Here's a quick check for you. Remove the #1 plug, take off the cap, put a straw in the plug hole and slowly turn the engine over. Watch the straw and when it starts back down, you've just passed TDC. Now look at the rotor (if it's 180° out, turn it over again), and at the TDC mark on the balancer. It could be that you are either adjusting the dist. timing to the correct Crank mark, with the cam out of time. That is, the cam has jumped several teeth. OR, you are setting the timing to a wrong mark on the crank balancer. That is, the outer ring on the balancer has slipped around many degrees. Seems like you've looked at everything else.
