"what the hell is that?" - that was the (amazed/pleased) response to some people seeing my red (1957) 300C here in South Australia on your Memorial Day - it back on the road after chasing a really bad engine noise that sounded like a cracked piston/skirt. 6 months later, a welded hair crack in the passenger side exhaust manifold, and a few other things, and it is blowing people away visually - most have no idea what it is, but love it. And apart from the woolly feeling 1957 power steering, what a ball to drive, I now parking my 6 series BM coupe which is also fun to drive, but lacks that real 'punch in the back' power of the 300C. 2 Questions 1) what are the better front end alignment settings that apparently some in Club are aware of to make the car run truer - these different to the factory specs? 2) as part of my for now dormant 'super 392 hot up', I obtained a Carter AFB that I thought may suit the Weind 2 4bbl alloy Manifold I am to use, but it is smaller than need. It is seemingly the second 4bbl of a twin set up, as it has no choke. The numbers stamped in the front flange are 3258 S, then underneath not as deep M 5. Anyone have a code book to tell me what it is off? Unusually compared to other AFBs, looking down the front throats, the venturis come from the side. Better go - I cannot believe my car was off the road for so long finding time to fix about three (semingly) small things - message is keep them cars on the road, get motivated if they are not?!! All the best from oz, petrol prices here going through the roof, damp roads really lighting up rear tyres under power. aussie christopher _________________________________________________________________ Smart Saving with ING Direct ? earn 5.25% p.a. variable rate: http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;7249209;8842331;n?http://www.ingdirect.com.au/burst6offer.asp?id=8 ------------------------ Yahoo!
