I've been looking at some web sites that cover salt flat racing http://www.saltflats.com/ & http://www.landracing.com/ . One of the things that is very appealing is the 130MPH club at Bonneville. To make the club, you need to cover a a standing 1mi straight course and be travelling at least 130 mph at the other end. So of course I'm thinking , hmmmmmm.... my 300C is a topend kinda car, it should be able to break 130MPH inside of 1 mile without even breaking a sweat! But then again, I'm quite the bench racer sitting here in the office typing away with a big grin on my face. So, my question to the group: Anybody every done this with a lettercar? If so, please share the experience. There's not much chance for all out top end crusing here in Ohio. Although I've had the 300C to 115 or so (indicated MPH probably reading on the high side....) so 130 actual MPH is still a bit on around the clock. I'm surmising though that w' the stock 3.36:1 differential, 135 - 140 MPH actual top speed is obtainable. Inside of a mile though? I dunno. I'm looking for input here, and seriously considering taking the Brute to the Salt Flats this fall. Any input, advise, or tall tales would be much appreciated. Thanks everybody!
