I agree also.  We make repairs on two part OEM paint jobs all the time.  I 
see them just sand the clear, paint the base coat and reclear.   Could it be 
inexperience that drove the comments?  And the part of having to take it down to 
bare metal.......Must be some painting experts out there who can comment.  I 
know that after much debate the Walter P Chrysler musuem opted for long life 
and resilience and paints all museum cars in two part.
