How do they define "personal use" and how do they prove it in event of a claim? What do they do if it they do decide if it is personal use(do they say you are not covered, especially in event of a liability claim where you may have been at fault)? It is these small print points that can get us into trouble, and of course if they do get us into trouble in event of a claim, we will get an apology for any misunderstanding. I have the same concerns with my insurance company(s). Perhaps I am not covered if I use my B to drive to the auto parts store to pick up an oil filter, I just do not know, and would hate to find out the hard way. Perhaps some club members can offer some insight to all of us on just what is covered, when?, and what happens if it is determined that the auto was being used for "personal use". Do they pay the claim and merely cancel our policy, or do they not pay and cancel, or do they pay and tell us not to do this again in the future? I used to have J.C.Taylor and then Hagerty. Since I now have almost all of my worldly goods insured through the AAA, they required me to get my collector car insurance from their designated company to get the maximum discounts. That company is American Hobbyist in Stuart, FL. Out of curiosity, I contacted with them today to review my policy. They cover my vehicles anytime I drive them to and from an event, including stopping for lodging or for meals. They also insure each of my vehicles for 7,500 miles each year and insure them at the agreed upon values which are automatically increased each year, probably for inflation. The only time they are not covered is if I use them for personal use. All this and the premium is quite compatible with the others I've had.
