Amen!
from over the top.
I agree with you and nobody listens to me either.
But don't hold the Club responsible. Nobody speaks German.
Just be thankful that the real letter cars were either 2 door hardtops or convertibles. That will help the confusion. The 300C is a monsterous 4 door sedan, like the old lumpy Mercedes of the mid nineties.
The real letter cars are from the real Chrysler Corporation.
It is gone the way of Studebaker.

An alternative for the windshield project would be Timo Tanskanen. He has
the F windshield in stock, sells for about 850.00, is tinted the same as
factory and looks of high quality. He is currently replacing my B
windshield with one of his own making as mine is beginning to delaminate on
one edge and he has the windshield gasket problem well in hand.
He does have a windshield bug of his own design not that of the original so
be aware of this if this is important. They are manufactured in Finland
using molds of his design. Some others from South America have been of poor
quality. My current one came from South Africa some 14 years ago and I was
never to pleased with it and had never until now found one that I thought I
could be satisfied with.
Several club members have used his product and I have never heard of any
complaints. If there are any out there, speak now or forever hold your
piece. He advertises in our club newsletter so you all can get contact
info there.
Just another alternative for our listeners.

I realize there is much interest out there as to what has become of the
reproduction project for the '60-64 windshields.
Below is the update from Vic Phillips as to where it currently stands.
Fellas, if we are going to have windshields as the years roll on, it is
going to take a man like Vic or someone exactly like him ( who???) to get
the job done because he is a dedicated hobbyist.
So please let Vic know of your ongoing interest and support by dropping him
an e-mail at classicglass@xxxxxxxx .
I'm not involved in this project other than hoping to see it done, wanting
one for my 300F Special, and being a correspondent of Vics partly because we
both own Studebakers!

Group,
I'm looking to re-do the gold color of the '57 dash knobs.
It's been suggested that the candy apple gold/transulcent color used in the modeling/hobby world is a close match. Trouble is it doesn't seem to be available anymore from on-line or local sources.
I've tried the VHT brand spray metal tint (gold) and the color seems off.
Anybody have any ideas or sources?
Thanks,
Jim Krausmann

Subject: Seal-beam//Halogen=FIRE
Hello over there.
When I bought my Cad....c -60 back in -95 I picked it up in a small town about 170 miles from
were I live. I drove it home and when I came home my 2 year and 3 year old sons wanted to
go for a ride with daddy's new car. We came 1 mile and then the car was on fire, the coupe was
filled with white thick smoke in a few seconds and large flames under the dash.
My great luck was that this happened just outside a friends house and I could take my boys and
put them outside the car and run in to my friend and take his firedistinguiser and kill the fire.
This fire happened because the seller have replaced the seal beams for halogen and haven't put in a relay.
The circuit-breaker was overloaded and I didn't notice that because I drove it home in daylight.
In Sweden we have had this problem all the time with " blackouts " because we always had to replace
the old sealbeams because sealbeams was not allowed ten years ago and the circuit breakers couldn't
take it without a relay. We never used the Hi-beam on old US-cars.
Now we are allowed to keep the seal beams so I go with that on my G and I think they are good enough
for the way I use my car.
Best regards..... Johan ( G-Conv )
