Hi Philippe,

This sounds like a problem that I encountered about a
year after I rebuilt the Torqueflite in my G. The
problem turned out to be the reverse band adjustment.
Possibly due to initial wear on the new reverse band,
I readjusted it per the manual and the problem
disappeared and has not come back.

The EEC could use the assistance of those attending the meet last week in
Battlecreek: we need digital pictures of people, places, and cars for the
club web site.

Please send jpegs to John Hertog at crossram@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm looking at the gasket set for the 331. The rear main seal is
neoprene. The half that fits in the cap seem to be correct but the half
that fits in the block has probably 80% of the housing that the seal fits
into empty. I was told by hot heads to fill under the seal with silicone.
This sounds really Mickey mouse. Does this work or should I go find a
rope seal(didn't come with the gasket kit)?

Light throttle 2-3 shift should be at 23-28 mph--never over 30. You have
lengthened the rod
too much.Make sure it's not hanging up---binding or too weak return
spring.
Actually I think
some valve is sticking in valve-body.--or internal problem. You say it is a

recent rebuild ---

Hi folks. Can anyone with a '66 parts book tell me if the front hub and
brake drums ,11" x 3" are #2266896/7, left and right.... and the rears
#2533824. My '65 NY'er ones are all on the 11.060 limit and I've found 4
good '66 Fury ones. Will they fit? They ARE the same in '65.
         Thanking you in advance......
                                 .Dave.

The pieces of the kickdown valve asssembly can be assembled logically but
wrong and cause shifting patterns like WOT regardless of throttle position
(don't ask).
