The ends measure 1-3/8" across. The bars I have are 1.018" diameter. Looking for ones in the .90 range or anything smaller than what I have. Has anyone dismantled a Plymouth or Dodge same era C-body such as a Dodge 880. All Chryslers will be V-8's, but a Dodge or Plymouth small block or 6 cylinder non A/C car would be perfect. Thanks! The car needs some restoration on the interior, and has some rust on the rockers and the wheel opening, but seems to be running really nice, and is very complete. Have a couple of questions : the front seat carpet has some aluminum strips as the F / G / H models? what is the modern size tire that would be the equivalent of 7.60x15? what about front seat covers? Are they avaible in repro? grille emblem is avaible in repro? Thank for the help Antonello Jelitro ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Mon, 12 May 2003 13:55:09 -0500 From: paul holmgren <paulholm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: 727 push button/cable shift OK here we go again Kuszmaul Scott SSG 180FW/LGG 580-4139 <scott.kuszmaul@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Kuszmaul Scott SSG 180FW/LGG 580-4139 wrote: > > 1964 push button 727 trans for sale $100.00 > > 1965 cable shift 727 trans for sale $100.00 > > 1966-73 727 transmissions for sale $100.00 > > All transmissions removed from C-body cars. I guess this sort of forwarding does not go through the groups mailing list software. Another lesson learned about this stuff. -- Paul Holmgren Hoosier Corps #33, L-6 2 57 300-C's in Indy ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 7 Date: Mon, 12 May 2003 16:09:44 -0700 From: "Frank Bakanau" <FBAKANAU@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Master Cylinder Final Solution Regarding the weird master cylinder on the 55 Chryslers... This unit (power brakes) was for 1 year only and impossible to find parts for. But, Power Brake Exchange in San Jose will rebuild them for $238.00. I've located a complete master cylinder/booster unit off of a 55 Imperial that I will send to them. I'll swap it out with my existing unit when I get it back. As it turns out, the brake lock up problem was in the master cylinder return valve. This is a very strange design that seems to use two concentric pistons, one to take up the "slack" and one to apply force to the wheel cylinders. Anyway, thanks again to all the help replays I received. If you're going to switch to silicone brake fluid, you MUST clean out the entire system of old fluid. On to the next project....
